Director of Development

The Director of Development will lead a small team of development professionals and guide The Z’s fund development efforts, securing charitable contributions that support the organization’s mission and vision while institutionalizing a philanthropic mindset organization-wide. This role requires both strategic vision and a hands-on approach. The Director will work to build support among key constituencies, is accountable for meeting the organization’s ambitious operational fund development goals, while also overseeing The Z’s capital campaign which will be transitioning from a successful leadership phase into a public phase in the coming months. This 31-million-dollar project has a multi-pronged funding package, approximately one-third of which is philanthropy. The Director will work collaboratively with the Vice President of Strategic Engagement and the President & CEO to spearhead this transformative project over the next two years.

Programming Manager

The Zeiterion Performing Arts Center (The “Z”)is a non-profit organization whose mission is to entertain, educate, and inspire our community by presenting a diverse array of high-quality performing artists and providing engaging learning opportunities that contribute to the cultural, social and economic vitality of the South Coast. Working both independently and with the President/CEO you will identify national, international, and regional artists and performances that will advance The Z’s mission as a professional performing arts presenter. The Programming Manager will assist in artistic planning, and the development, scheduling, booking, and logistics related to The Z’s presenting season. The Programming Manager will be a key participant in imagining, coordinating, and materializing arts programming that will differentiate The Z in the region’s cultural landscape and give meaning and substance to our mission. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a love for the performing arts to be part of the creative team and help to lead The Z into the future.

Executive Assistant / Office Manager

The Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the President & CEO and to the Vice President of Strategic Advancement. In addition to handling information requests and performing clerical functions, this position deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. This position handles and is exposed to sensitive information regarding staff, board members and donors and must always maintain confidentiality and trust. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload. The position is full-time, exempt. Workdays are Monday through Friday and will include occasional evenings and weekends depending on performances and events.

The Zeiterion’s internship program provides high school and college students with comprehensive experience working in a non-profit performing arts center. Zeiterion interns can receive training in arts administration in several fields, including development, marketing, education, and patron services.
