What started out in 1982 at a Western Massachusetts elderly housing project has developed into the stereotype-defying, generation-crossing musical extravaganza better known as the Young@Heart Chorus! They joyfully pass the time instead of passing before their time.
As an ensemble of senior citizens performing classic and contemporary hits, Young@Heart has been celebrated worldwide as a truly inspirational force, especially during these challenging times. Their energy and charisma show fans that it’s possible to grow old without growing boring. Unwilling to be shut away in nursing homes, Young@Heart had been touring the world since 1982, performing sold out concerts, and singing unexpected interpretations of popular music from The Clash, Jimi Hendrix, Sonic Youth, and Coldplay.
From The New York Times to TIME, The Ellen Show to The Daily Show, the group of seniors, ranging in age from 77-93, has performed from Northampton to New Zealand, Europe to Japan, on over 55 tours around the world. They are also the stars of the hit Fox Searchlight documentary, Young@Heart, a Top 50 documentary of all time. It continues to air and inspire young and old, from PBS' Independent Lens to Netflix and at dozens of schools, universities, community and retirement centers around the world.
Bringing the generations together! The South Coast Children's Chorus will join the Young@Heart Chorus on stage for a very special song.

Effective March 13, 2022, patrons are encouraged, but no longer required, to wear facial coverings at events unless specifically requested by the artist. The Z still requires ALL attendees to provide documentation demonstrating full vaccination against the COVID-19 virus OR documentation of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR test within 72 hours or antigen test administered by a provider within 24 hours of the show that you are attending). Photo ID is required for ages 18 and older. The same is expected of all Zeiterion staff, event personnel, and volunteers.
Proof of vaccination or a negative test as described above will be required for all ages before entering any Zeiterion indoor venue. We accept physical vaccination cards as well as clear digital images of vaccination cards on a mobile device.
To further support our community’s well-being and in recognition of the many uncertainties due to the pandemic, all tickets during the 2021/22 season are exchangeable for another Zeiterion performance within the season.
Our intention is that greater flexibility will help further discourage attendance at a presentation by anyone with symptoms or potential exposure. We also want to support those who are providing care to someone who is ill, by allowing easier exchanges. Our box office staff is ready to make the accommodation you need.
The box office opens 2 hours before each performance on show days. You can also reach the box office by phone during business hours during the week.
Buy with confidence! If an event is cancelled or postponed, you will have the option to receive a refund or credit, or you may donate the value of your ticket back to The Z.
A cancellation notice will be posted on this website, as well as:
The Zeiterion does not authorize its tickets for resale through third party sellers, including eBay, StubHub, TicketMaster, Craig’s List, and other similar websites.
Tickets purchased through sources other than the Zeiterion box office or official website (www.zeiterion.org) may have substantial service fees above face value and are purchased at your own risk. We do not replace fraudulent tickets. Duplicate, counterfeit or altered tickets will not be honored. We reserve the right to cancel orders linked to predatory scalping practices. On occasion, Zeiterion tickets may be sold via Groupon or an artist through their official site or fan club website.
There is a limit of 9 tickets for each show at the Zeiterion.
Groups and organizations that require more tickets to an event may purchase them directly through Group Sales. Not all events are available for discounts, but we'd be happy to assist you with the purchase. Customers who are not making a group sale but attempt to manipulate or exceed ticket limits may have the entirety of their order(s) for that event cancelled. Ticket limits are in place to ensure fairness in the market and to mitigate the possibility of large numbers of seats being stockpiled by third party sellers. We appreciate our patrons’ cooperation in keeping tickets out of the hands of re-sellers and we are always available to answer questions and provide personal service through our Box Office at (508) 994-2900.
The Zeiterion prohibits cameras, sound recorders, and video equipment at performances, unless otherwise stated by the artist.
Patrons are welcome to take photos before and after a show.
No refunds, no exchanges, unless the event is cancelled or postponed.
If you are unable to attend a performance for which you have tickets, please consider giving those tickets to a friend or family member. The Zeiterion does not authorize its tickets for resale through third party sellers.
Adults without children are not permitted at Schooltime shows.
Unaccompanied adults are welcome to attend the mainstage presentation when available, but Schooltime performances are for Pre-K through 12 students and teachers, home school communities, neurodiverse community organizations, and caregivers with children.
