In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day the Z is honored to bring The Paul Winter Consort’s Missa Gaia (Earth Mass) performed by The Consort, guest artists, a choir and “the greater symphony of the Earth” including wolves, whales, eagles, and several dozen other species of “wilderness musicians” to New Bedford’s magnificent St. Anthony of Padua’s church.

Commissioned by St John The Divine and performed every year on St. Francis day, Missa Gaia is Winter’s joyous, rhythmic celebration of the whole earth as a sacred space. A brilliant fusion of Brazilian, gospel, classical, and jazz rhythms and harmonies, this rare concert is a profound, joyful and powerful soul stirring performance.
